LilMrsNelson is right, We do, Right now I am using the basic old school pre-folds but I am (When I finally have time to get them from her) going to get some of the other types from Ashlie and possibly switch to Bum Genious or G diapers. My son is only a month and he is my first so I am trying some things out right now but I just don't like disposable diapers at all so we are doing this with him now. What kind do you use Jennifer?
We were going to this weekend. Things got a little nutty around here this week and last weekend. Do you by chance have the plastic pant for over them. Thus far I can only find 18 Mo and up in stores and I can only find the smaller ones on the internet! I need to make it over to your store anyway though, maybe you can help me figure out what might be the best route for me as far as the other types.
I envy you guys that use cloth diapers! I never had the patience for it, but I am really proud, if I had the time ( I was a single mom at the time) I would have! They save sooo much money but are pretty time consuming as far as laundry.
Okay perfect, I will pass the info along to my husband. We had wanted to do some stuff in Manhatten anyway on Saturday! Thanks.
BLM- I hear you, but he has to use the huggies naturals if he uses disposables or else he breaks out immediately (I did the same as a child, and have sensitive skin even now) so the laundry to me is worth it because I don't have the rash. It is time consuming and I can't blame anyone for not wanting to use them. One of those Different strokes for different folks type things.
i cloth diapered my son and I will cloth diaper this little one due in Feb again! (and I'm BEYOND excited that there is a store here, I swear everyone in KY looked at me like I had two heads if they caught a peek of my sons diaper! I even had to argue with the doc that it was fine to use cloth and not "unsafe" and "unclean" like he tried to tell me..ugh)
My son has to see a urologist because of some issues, and she told me it is way more healthy for girls especially but for boys also. She said the chemicals and such in disposables just are not healthy. We saw his pediatrician yesterday and he said the same thing, so I would have to disagree with your KY Dr. LOL
Like I said, if you don't that is your thing ya know? It is a ton of laundry, but for me and our Son it just makes sense to us.
I have Bumgenius and some fitteds! There is a store in Manhattan??? Where???? I have all kinds of diapers and I love them all. Instead of using plastic pants I use wool because it functions as the cover and clothing!!!
OH I LOVE WOOL! lol, so easy and breathable, my son had really sensitive skin which is why we originally made the switch bc pampers sensitive was just blistering him and between bamboo and cotton and wool he cleared up and never had a problem! And Proud Cav Wife I argued with that doc too, but he just didn't want to listen! I know it was good for our family which is why we're going to do it again with this one! :)
The store is called Healthy Baby. It's in the new Grand Mere Village off Kimball and Vanesta. I'm working Sat, so come in and say hi and shop! I love cloth diapering and we have a great selection! We may start offering diaper service too!
