I was just wondering what everyones experiences were that had their prenatal care there. Did you like the doctors? How many ultrasounds did you get? Any information would be great!

Kristen --- 184 days ago -

i got a lot of ultrasounds cause my hubby worked there...lol but normally you will get like 4. I was very happy with everything, i had LTC Franklin who isnt there anymore but Kianna Kuntz a midwife delivered my daughter and she is soooo freaking nice!! I was happy with everything only complaint is the waiting room....lol i waited alot

~NoGreaterLove~ --- 184 days ago -

I am currently going. I love it so far. I have Doctor Sessions. He is great. All the nurses are really nice. I have had about 4 ultrasounds at this point and I am 22 weeks prego.

♥ BadLuckMommy ♥ --- 184 days ago -

Dr. Charles is amazing!

Kristen --- 184 days ago -

i had dr sessions a few times i had to switch docs cause he reminded me of my grandpa and it was weird...lol Hes really nice my hubby liked talking to him when he was still working at the hospital

Mrs.Pfeifer --- 184 days ago -

This is my first time going to any post hospital and so far its going alright. I was really nervous about going to a military hospital because I had my first child at a civilian hospital off post. The one thing I wish all post hospitals would change is their appearance. Because the off-post hospitals that are decorated with pictures and just decor have such a more inviting friendly feeling to them. I have only had one appt and on that first appt I got 5 ultrasounds basically just because. I was pretty pleased. With my first child I was on medicade and with that type of insurance I only got 4 pics the whole time :(.. So I'm already happy with how many I've got so far :).

I also recommend Dr Sessions. I saw him and Dr Colyer (who did my C-section) throughout the pregnancy and they were both wonderful. Sadly, Dr Colyer is no longer practicing after being diagnosed with terminal cancer 2 weeks after my daughter was born. Dr Sessions is great though! He stripped my membranes (OUCH!) 3 seperate times for me in hopes that I would go into labor before hubby deployed. :)

Mrs.Pfeifer --- 184 days ago -

@Josie Did it help (the stripping of the membranes) Were you able to go into labor before he deployed? and How old is Dr. Sessions?? My hubby has a strange thing with young men being my obgyn. My first appt with the doc I chose is with the Midwife Dr.Prickett? Have you heard of her.. I may switch if I don't like how midwifes do their thang lol.

Melissa --- 184 days ago -

Dr. Prickett was the person who delivered me, she seemed nice, didn't see much of her as three of us on the floor were at 8 cm at the same time and she was running around like crazy lol! I had Dr. Sessions and saw a specialist in Topeka as well, both were great and a much better experience over all than I had at Fort Campbell! Only thing was waiting, I never was seen on time but they are extremely busy up there right now!

Mrs.Pfeifer --- 184 days ago -

@Melissa Lol that is pretty crazy that there were 3 of you all dialated at 8cm!!! That would have been a mad house for the Dr's working that day/night haha. Well Hopefully she's good, I like the real friendly talkative docs.. personality is everything! LOL My last Doc wasn't too friendly.. but I wasn't able to switch so it was sorta sucky. But I ended up growing to like her. So it worked out I guess

Jordan --- 184 days ago -

I had pretty good care at Irwin. I didn't care for Ms. Prickett and I don't recommend her to anyone. She didn't deliver my daughter but she was my dr that i saw (i was high risk) I enjoyed the big room for labor and delivery and the nurses were all really nice. making appointments weren't bad. I would prefer to go off post but if i had to I would go there again. oh and i got an ultrasound every week for the last 3 months.

obrn4u --- 184 days ago -

Yeah! Glad to hear good things!! :)

Mrs.Pfeifer --- 183 days ago -

@obrn4u Do you work as an RN and the hospital there?

Kristen --- 183 days ago -

i couldnt stand Sally Prickett and Dr sessions is like 70 years old, like i said he reminds me of my grandpa!!! LOL I didnt know that about DR colyer thats soooo sad.

Jordan --- 183 days ago -

i couldnt stand Sally Prickett OMG i know right!! my husband always just tried to tell me she's "seasoned" i was like no honey she's going to croak and she has no idea what she's talking about!! haha

Kristen --- 183 days ago -

lol my hubby hated her too. I actually called when i was in labor and asked who the next 2 docs on where cause i would have gone to mercy or geary....lol

obrn4u --- 183 days ago -

@Mrs.Pfeifer Yup. I just started there recently.

Mrs.Pfeifer --- 183 days ago -

@ obrn4u Well that is good.. I will most likely meet you haha :) The name's michele and obviously pfeifer is the last! lol. @Jordan and Kristen Quit freakin me out about Prickett haha.. You damaged my first judgement on her lol now I'll wanna switch jus cuz hahahahaha! lol

Jordan --- 183 days ago -

@Michele Just switch... wait till you have to get your cervix checked and it feels like she's digging for gold... haha sorry TMI

Kristen --- 183 days ago -

lol i just wouldnt see her, my doc was doing a c section and i waited for him to get done. They were like well you can see Prickett and i was like no i'll wait..hahahaha. They tried to stick me with her for a 'women" exam in march and once again i said no and waited till april to get it with Kianna!

Mrs.Overdue --- 183 days ago -

I Reccomend Dr. Sessions to ANYONE. The Dr. Sessions that I see just about every appointment is early 40's or so. He is the first provider at Irwin that seems like he wants to be there and he shows that he loves his job and loves babies.. the first time i met him he had just delivered a baby and he was glowing... probably more the the mother. I went in for braxton hicks last night at 1:30 am and he was still the sweetest man. My husband loves him and he has the best bedside manner. Ms. Prickett REMINDS ME OF MY SPINSTER AUNT!!! SHE IS RUDE AND HAS NO BEDSIDE MANNER. I avoid her at all costs!! And she squints to read your name on the folder.. HOW DOES SHE READ THE DAMN CHART!!!!!!

Kristen --- 183 days ago -

LOL my bad im thinking of Doctor Mason hahahahahah i had a teacher in high school named Sessions and i always misplace the name!!!! Sorry for the confusion!

Mrs.Overdue --- 183 days ago -

Lol I was going to say the Dr. Sessions I see isn't that old.. maybe there is 2 lol... He really is a great Dr. and I don't like male OB/GYNs

My Dr. Sessions is only in his 30's lol. Dr. Lowthium who filled in for Dr. Sessions was really old, and all of his paperwork said "Dr. Sessions" because he was just taking his spot while he was deployed. Maybe that could be it? Or there may be 2? Who knows? I have to say I really appreciate everything that was done for us at IACH. I was having trouble getting pregnant so we went up and found out that I had Cervical Cancer. Dr. Colyer was my Dr. at that time. Then he got sick, so Dr. Sessions removed the cancer. After I was healed from that they started me on Clomid and within a month I conceived Elijah. Dr. Sessions deployed so I saw Dr. Lowthium until he came back. Dr. Sessions took over at about 20 weeks. He helped me so much with all my complications. Between my scar tissue, Preclamsia and Gestational Diabetes I was really a hot mess. He never behaved like I was too much for him and right up to delivery he gave me as much attention as I needed to feel better. When I went into labor one of the midwives wanted to send me home becuase she wanted me further before I "Took up a bed" but he admitted me ASAP and got me my Epidural. He was great during my entire 20 hours of labor, my hour of pushing. When the Midwife got fed up and wanted to do a c-section Dr. Sessions got Elijah out with Forceps. All in all Elijah is a great blessing and we obviously thank God first, but the staff at IACH is 2nd on our list of thank yous. Even during post partum he has been wonderful to me. We found out there are more cancer cells so we are working on that now, but he really seems to care about you in all stages of anything. I know allot of people claim that it isn't good care, but I think it is way better than anything I could have asked for. I have friends that have seen Dr. Khoury in JC and they were very disapointed and really regretted going to him.

Ashlie --- 183 days ago -

i loved it..my son was bron in 30 mins and they were patient ...the prenatal care i recieved two ultrasounds thru them and heard theheartbeat everytime..they were helpfull thru my questions and concerns throug out everything..

Proud Cav. Wife --- 183 days ago -

Oh! I got like 30+ ultra sounds and on in KC but I was high risk and with the fertility drugs I had to have one at 6 weeks to count babies and make sure the positive pregnancy test was a baby and not a false positive. I had so many because of the complications. Dr. Sessions said on Average he does at least 4, but he tries to do as many as he can. Like Ashlie said they were so good about questions, I even got an Email from Dr. Sessions once showing me an article from CNN on a topic that I'd been asking about. So I recommend that care to EVERYONE!

Melissa --- 182 days ago -

Dr. Sessions was the main person I saw as well, TOTALLY recommend him. He put up with my emotional crying spells lol, complicated pregnancy and it seems like every time I was there I ended up crying (not because of him just because of life/complications/fears lol). He always took the time to ease my fears and if he saw me in the hall when I was leaving or coming in for a NST he asked how I was doing, he truly knows his patients and seems to love his job, which is VERY hard to find military or not!

Mrs.Overdue --- 182 days ago -

there was something off with my urinalisis from the ER on Monday night and Dr. Sessions called me himself to explain his ideas and possibilities sense he wont be able to see me while he is on leave for the next few weeks. he basically did an exam over the phone and set the appt himself and relayed to the midwife how she was to procede with my care through his absece... HE IS THE BEST DR.

*~Kristle~* --- 182 days ago -

Dr. Sessions is amazing! He caught some stuff going on with me that 3 other drs missed, and anytime we had a question we called and he made sure to personally be there to answer our questions!I had to have an emergency C-section and he came in to do it, he didn't want anyone else to.
