so I went to fill out my fafsa online and got to the end and they wanted me to pay $80...well thats gay. Since the MyCaa thing is nonexistant for the time being i have to get some kind of grant or something b/c my next block starts on Mar29 and i have to pay...Has anyone gone to the ed center on post to fill out a fafsa? do they do that there? what paperwork will i need? any info would be helpful. also my husband said something about different companys having diff ed centers..does it matter which one i go to? 

I have been filling out FAFSA's for YEARS and have never been asked to pay a dime. Thats very odd. I think the ed center will help you though. You will need copies of your tax returns from the prior year. I think there are different ed centers.. but you can contact your FRSA or FRG leaders and maybe they can help you out. My hubby used to be in 2-1 STB and that ed center was over on Parker. (just in case thats who your husband is with.) Good luck! FAFSA= Annoying!

The FAFSA is FREE (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). I'm sure you were on the wrong site. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and stay away from the .com, .net .org or any other sites. Government sites end in .gov And be VERY careful ladies. Some of these sites are set up to steal personal information from you.

Yea, I just filled one out yesterday and you definitely don't have to pay anything. I agree with Taj, make sure you are at the right website! www.fafsa.ed.gov

im pissed off that MyCaa has stopped approving FA because Im already enrolled in school and it is paying for my current classes but its not gonna pay for the next three starting in less than 2 weeks its makin me ANGRY!! I wish since I was already USING MyCaa that they would just freakin cover the rest of my school I have the Pell but it only covered PART of my classes like only enough for my books... UGH!! I just have to drop a couple classes i guess, but does anyone know if I am not "full time" if Pell will still cover me? I gotta call the school next week and find out what I can do lol 

If you were already approved for myCaa once they WILL continue to pay. That is what they told me. 

okay, if you are receiving the My CAA now, you will still continue to get it for your "contracted" amount of time! They are not stopping it for the people that have already been approved, just no one new can get it! I work in the ed center for one of the colleges! So, if you are getting the MyCAA now, do not worry, until the 6000 is up! Happy education! 

LOL both of you are wrong. They are NOT going to approve the rest of the money until they get whatever the problem is sorted out. You can call Military One Scource yourself and find out. I call them every day I can so I can get info and see whats going on. But they are NOT going to approve my next set of classes. Tried it. Not gonna happen.

Well I can try that but if Military One scource and the MyCaa people I talk to tell me no and on the website every time I try and apply for FA for the next round of courses it poppes up with the same message that they are "temporarily haulting opperations" Im going to school thru barton, and they are telling me the same thing. 

I am just saying what my main campus and what was said at the post Muster meeting yesterday. Some schools are having other issues with this. But it is now in writting, that if you were receiving it before, and didn't get interrupted for any reason, you "should"still be awarded what was agreed to!
