I wasn't able to get a 3D ultrasound with my first child so I'm really hoping that IACH can do them. My cousin is stationed in colorado and she was able to get one by paying a good chunk of change lol so I was curious if this hospital does them? 

When I had my daughter in 08, they didn't. Call 785-239-DOCS and they can tell you. Let us know! 

They don't do them but womens health group in manhattan does they are $175 I believe but could be wrong 

Well since we are on tricare and I am only able to go on post unless I am referred somewhere else.. How would I go about trying to get one from the womens health group in Manhattan? 

You can just call them and set up an appointment since you will be paying out of pocket for it because TriCare will not cover it. I was going to go to them and get just a normal ultrasound done and them tell me the sex of the baby if IRWIN couldn't get me in before my hubby was scheduled to leave for deployment and it would of cost me 75 for that since I was being seen on post and not referred off post but thankfully IRWIN was able to get me in so I didn't have to worry about it. 

they do offer them but only in special cases i belive, i asked if i could get one cause i have no shame asking....lol and she told me she couldn't do it cause they were for certain cases. 

i had to go to topeka for all of my uppper level ultrasounds at a maternal fetal medicine group there. irwin didn't have the technology to do it there since they were looking at my baby's heart for possible defects. ~Amy 

I dunno if it is still there or not. But there used to be a place in the Topeka mall that did that and the 4d ultra sounds. You could even get video. It wasn't through a hospitol or anything medical, but it was kinda like for fun if that makes sense. They would even tell you the sex of the baby. They did not make any guarantees, but they did the ultrasounds and what not and you paid for whatever package you got. I had it done when I was preggers with my son, but that was 4 yrs ago. They came out pretty good though. 

they dont do them at irwin, if they suspect somthing is "wrong" they'll send you to topeka. thats what they did with my last two 

I was in the radiology dept. at Irwin making an appt. and saw a sign that they do offer 3D ultrasounds. I don't know if it's on a special basis or not though. When I was preggers with my 3rd child I had a 4D (not here obviously), but the pics were amazing! :) 

3D ultrasounds are generally not covered under Tricare because they aren't medically necessary so Irwin won't do them. 

@Mami2one- That is pretty cool that they had that and hopefully they still do! lol.. Maybe I'll call up there and jus ask if they have it anymore, even though I'll feel silly haha. 

tricare will if somethings wrong..my son was born in 7-4-09 and i pd and went to womans health group ..it was worth it 

They dont do them here..if something is suspected to be wrong then they send you to topeka and they do them up there at Stormont-Vale Hospital 

The Place in the Topeka Mall Closed in 2007 right before I was far enough along with my son to get one so I had to go to Kansas City but with this last Pregnancy I Had it done at the Womens Health group and even if you have a referral to be seen at their office Tricare wont cover it (unless it is medically necessary) you will still have to pay out of pocket regardless.
