So i got my move in date, October 7th!
I'm still debating wither or not i should bring my dog with me, I know the Pet Deposit is $400 but does anyone know if i have to pay a monthly fee in addition to my rent?

Before my husband deployed we were living in Manhattan which killed us in the Gas department! I'm glad were living in JC so we can be closer to post. Does anybody live at Quinton?? 

I do, my husband goes thru Estes Gate (or whichever one they have open on that side now)

Personally I feel the apts have gone a little down hill but still one of the better places to live in JC. The pool is also nice. Do you know which building or apt yet? I live in the 1st building over looking the field but I will be moving before Oct :( 

I wouldn't leave your dog behind due to a deposit. Personally I'd regret it =(

I know you were asking Camillia, but I knew someone that lived there and just hanging out there for a few hours was ridiculous, as in THE WALLS! You could hear every "crick and crack" when someone walks in the apt above you - I thought our apts were bad :-/

I live at QP, and personally I don't think they're too shabby. I live all the way in the back by the middle school on the 1st floor. I will say that the outside walls are a bit thin, and my ceiling is thin, but they are apartments, so you can't expect perfection. I like the management A LOT, and our maintenance guy is AWESOME! I do think that the pool could be bigger, but meh. I also think that some of the people who move in are trash, but I imagine you would get that anywhere. Welcome to QP! :) 

thats what I mean..some of the people they have started leasing to are ..umm..less then desirable. The mgt worked with me when I had to be late on rent and are nice...I like Tina a lot. (shes the one in charge i believe) They do not have a playground for children so that is a downfall but I believe they are working on getting one put in. I live on the 3rd floor so I dont know about the sounds from people walking around. I live in one of the 'quieter' buildings. The one that mrstohiskisses lives in used to have partied all the time...lol.

Their carpet looks nice but it is cheap quality and in the lease it says if it has any spots after having it professionally cleaned (which you pay for) then they will rip it up and make you pay for it. Personally I think a little spot shouldnt warrant that but they insist they will change it out over that. (isnt that normal wear and tear tho?) Yes the maintenance man Carl is a nice guy and tries to get things done quick but thats another problem..hes the only one. Also some people do not pick up their dog poop so you might step in it but they are trying to get a handle on that situation as well. 

I just cant see my self paying all that money for a small apartment I rent a house for the same price behind hunters ridgei swear these people in JC are a rip off. I so cant wait to get outta here 

i completely agree!!! younghans is a complete rip off! for a small lil house thats like run down and on the verge of being demolished they want 800 a month?? and its so small you cant fit a queen bed in the MASter bedroom lol and mathis lueker isnt any better they rip people off just cause they feel everyone that lives in jc is military so basically the people that are not in the military got screwed. 

OH MY I KNOW! I can't wait to get out of here either, total ripoffs all over this place! Topeka an hour away (barely) is listed as one of the most affordable cities (I used to live there too) and it's also a military and college town (Air Force - Forbes Field / Washburn University). It's just ridiculous the prices around here - JC/Manhattan areas! 

add: I paid $550 for a 2bed2bath apartment (bigger than what we have here for $850!!) and all I paid was electric (and is was waaaay cheaper than here, but of course I had Westar)

DS&O called me yesterday and said i had to pay a 250$ deposit before i head into my apartment. Im like wow, pretty darn steep if you ask me!
Westar, was a great company. 

WOW! heck yeah, THAT'S RIDICULOUS!! ive never lived ANYWHERE where the deposit had to be PAID IN FULL prior to move in!! Such a ripoff and completely unfair!! 

i live in Quinton Point me and my husband have been here a month our elec deposite was $380.00 to move in and they said half to move in and the other half on our 1st bill then they sent us a bill 5 days later saying it was due and we just got our 1st bill and it was $177.00 for one months elec and we keep the ac at 76 and i the building we are in is like the noisest one here we are on the 3rd floor and throughout the day it sounds like a football team running around and at night you hear the people going up and down the stairs and slamming their doors our 1st week here the police were at the apt rgt across the hole from us and the police were always in the parking lot and i have a newborn baby and it sucks with the noise i get her to sleep and my luck someone slams their door and shes awake its not worth the $975 we pay a month for a 3 bedroom 

A299 which building are you in? The cops are here a lot..we had some drunk guy trying to kick in our doors a couple months ago..I wonder if thats what your talking about!

Im in 2304 ! Right by each other. I have the BMW and black GMC suv out in the big parking lot. 

I get there on Sept 8th so i'll be able to see where u guys are at! :)

i have a green saturn and a bike outside and i havea 9 yr old cat but i think a 400 pet deposit is a joke and you only get 200 back 

get a note from your doctor for your pet. Also, since we've lived here I've been calling around and had quite a few apts tell me that even with my letter for my dog I'd still have a deposit because she's not a "certified service dog", which is crazy! I worked for an apartment complex in Topeka and we HAD to accept the letter and we couldn't charge a pet dep / pet rent at all. I think people around here (military/college towns) will do whatever they can to rip you off! 

even though our apts we're at now accepted the letter for my dog, considering she is a therapy dog, but sucks when we go to move if noone accepts it :(

watch out in the lease about their "apot on carpet" policy. Basically you pay to have it professionally cleaned and if there are any spots left they will replace the whole carpet...I think thats beyond stupid bc their carpet is junk to begin with..looks nice but crappy quality.
