Ok so in 2009 when I got here the walmart here did a thing where they were giving away cards to soldiers? I dont know what it was called it was Operation something lol.... anyhow I dont know what the guidelines where or what not but I was wondering if any of you know where we can look for them or how to sign up for them if we are even able to! 

I've never heard of walmart doing that, but sears does the heroes at home gift cards, but the sign up was in sept or oct. and was maxed out within minutes. I used to work for walmart, in 09 actually, and I've never seen walmart do anything that didn't benefit themselves. 

I have never heard of anything like this either. I keep an eye out on the internet for things like that, and am on a lot of military wives forums, and haven't seen anything about it this year. The only places I heard about were Sears and JCPenney giving out gift cards. Both of those already too late to enter. 

I used to work for walmart and they never gave anything anyway, to anyone. They are too greedy! lol
I got signed up for Sears Heroes at Home program this year and received an email saying our gift card would be emailed to us Dec 2 with an amount up to $550 dollars. 

When did you get a email sayin how much the sears gift card will be? We got accepted this year and havent gotten a email since the email sayin we were accepted. 

i emailed them the other day asking when it was going to be distributed, and they emailed me back saying dec 2nd with an amount up to $550. 

One of the soldiers said he got a gift card for $100 i want to say he went through the acs. Im going to call and talk to the coordinator and see if i hear anything i will post it on here. Thanks snd happy holidays 

Yes they did do that in 2009. It was Operation Homefront. They got so many hundreds of dollars worth of wal mart gift cards and if you applied for them and if u did it in time they sent you as much as they wanted based on income, expenses, etc. I know bc my husband and I used them and got $200 in gift cards for the holidays. It was def a one time deal though, and it hasn't happened again since that I know of. 

dang that sucks wish they could do it again :( well thanks and if you ladies hear anything please post so we can all get in on the great deal :)
