I just wanted to let you all know that NPR is doing a Super Tuesday fund raising campaign until 8am where they will match your donation dollar do dollar. Hope you all call and pledge your support for quality radio programming.

NPR and KPR 1888-577-5268

JPaint21 --- 13 years ago -

I will support quality radio programming, but NPR does not fall under that category.

notsue --- 13 years ago -

Whats your beef with NPR? I've enjoyed it since I was a kid with my grandfather, and I love how it really hasnt changed in all these years, hehe.

Inherittheearth --- 13 years ago -

Really?! NPR is not quality radio? I would LOVE to hear your reasoning for that statement.

I guess they could play a little more country music and evangelical gospel rhetoric.

JPaint21 --- 13 years ago -

I prefer to listen to things that are so liberally biased. That's all. I also don't enjoy CNN or MSNBC.

Is FOX News #1 on your watchlist?

ILoveMulberries --- 13 years ago -

I also listen to NPR...Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't..Ummm, my Dad doesn't like it because he says ( NOT ME) its Liberal Media..."Yah, so what" I says because I don't have ANYTHING to do with Liberal, Conservitive, Demo, or Repubicans...Sometimes it has cool stories...Inherittheeart (man that is hard to type out LOL!) maybe thats why some peeps don't like it..NO ONE Drag me into a politacal debate..NOT INTERESTED...Just something I thought because both sides have media outlets and both sides don't always get along...

notsue --- 13 years ago -

Wow. I like I get my info from more than one source... so I listen to multiple places. Different opinions on the same subject are good.

ILoveMulberries --- 13 years ago -

Excataly what I like to do also, notsue. Did anyone listen to the story on Charnoble back around December 6thish? It was interesting and SCARY

AGREED, I'm the same way.

notsue --- 13 years ago -

No, I missed that, but did you watch Anythony Bourdain in Chernobyl? Loved it, was funny.
I've always been facinated with that place. I remember ages ago a girl who would ride her bike thru there and said that so long as she stayed on the sidewalk/roads she'd be okay. She talked about how you had to know the people in the market that you were buying food from or you might end up buying tomatoes that were grown in the bad area. She loved how peaceful and quiet it was over there... personally I'm creeped out by the emptiness... I like calm and quiet when its just trees and what not... but when you throw in old buildings then you cannot help but keep thinking about the bad things that happened there.

JPaint21 --- 13 years ago -

I never said I only listen to one source, and I also never said I only watch Fox News. Assume much?

notsue --- 13 years ago -

I dont throw Fox at anyone... I figured everyone knew better than that by now.

The only thing I can assume from what you've said is that you have some kind of problem with stations that you believe have a liberal agenda.

notsue --- 13 years ago -

Should I also mention that I like to watch stuff on C-Span where the cameras roll uninterupted instead of whatever local news channel where I have to deal with however many people argue about whats being said?

JPaint21 --- 13 years ago -

Lol. I can agree with you on that one.

Hmm, I wasn't assuming. If you see that question mark at the end of my sentence it shows I was asking you (so not assuming). Most people that are against MSNBC and CNN love them some FoxNews, since they are the complete opposite of liberal ;) lol

notsue --- 13 years ago -

I dont like titles either...
All I want is the news, and I'd like to form my own opinions about the news I heard. I also dont want the people delivering the news to be laughing or having a good time when they give it.

JPaint21 --- 13 years ago -

I do like some of the shows on fox news, but not all of them. I am fairly conservative, but some of the people are ridiculous and over the top and make the rest of us look bad.

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

I definitely agree with you there and I don't mean just conservatives, I mean for all sides.

All I want is the news, and I'd like to form my own opinions about the news I heard. I also dont want the people delivering the news to be laughing or having a good time when they give it.

Agreed. To ME the news reporters should be more like teachers (K-12 that is) and not put their opinions out there, considering it could sway viewers and/or not give the whole story.

Inherittheearth --- 13 years ago -

I enjoy hearing others opinions, it is a good way to gather a consensus of what other are thinking. I will never let someone influence my opinion, but at the same time this is why we have people out there doing the research, to bring it to us and then to have an intelligent back and forth between the sides. We can separate news and commentary, and still get our facts and opinions. I mean without these loud pundits and loudmouths like Nancy Grace where would we be? (in a better place, I HATE Nancy Grace!)

Oy vey --- 13 years ago -

I'm surprised noone has mentioned The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report.

I'm conservative myself, and I do not enjoy how the quality of news reporting has gone down hill; be it their dress, their personal opinion, what have you, a lot seems off to me with today's media folk.

I will say my husband really enjoyed listening to NPR radio while we traveled throughout Europe. We picked up the stations airing from the Canadian broadcasters. :)

Stephen Colbert /koʊlˈbɛər/ is an absolute good, he is infallible and saying anything bad about him is sacrilege!
