While I really appreciate the opportunity, I am a little upset that they started this on a weekday. I don't need a tree ( I have a fake one ), but there were some people in my FRG who missed out because they couldn't get there in time due to work and such.
I had posted about it on our page and some of them were hoping they would be able to get one. Oh well.

I imagine that they assumed the people who had someone not working at home would be the ones who actually needed the financial help... so weekday works out for those people. Real trees are as cheap as 25-30$, and I'll keep buying my own each year. Fake trees are even cheaper...

Ehhh, some of the ones were stay at home, another was injured, and another was working (she has a part time job). I am sure they can afford a tree somewhere else. A little extra help for the holidays is always great. I am sure they weren't banking on them, but were a little disappointed when they found out they were already all gone. I just felt bad for them; because I posted about the resource the other day they were kind of hoping for it and were let down.

There were only 275 trees this year, about half of previous years, from what I understand. Also, for the past 3 years, first day preference was given to families with a deployed family member, and this year the first day was open to everyone. I got there at 7:55 am and left at about 9:30 with my tree...

Happy to have one and sorry to those that didn't get one...I just think the number was so much less than it has been previously that they ran out really fast...
