watch out mcclellan loop somebody or some kid is going around opening fences and letting dogs out. We just came home and found this out when we noticed one of our dogs is missing the neighbor said both our fences were wide open. i called the mps and they said this has been an ongoing problem today. If you do happen to find our dog he is about 45 lbs hes mixed with boxer, akita, red healer, and lab. He is built like a boxer with shorthair and colored like a red heeler with a long tail. Call me if you find him and please keep an eye on your animals i wouldnt want this to happen to anyone else. lost dog add in bookoo.

Suggestion, its pretty easy to put a lock on your gate to stop this from happening. If your gate does not have a latch that can lock you can buy one from Menards for $4.35. Yes , idiots should not mess with yor gate, but this is a cheap prevention measure you can use. Also check with vet services first thing Monday to see if your pet was turned in.

This is why we pad lock our fence. I am so sick of the individuals whom think its funny to touch other peoples items.
It seems they think their funny when truly tgey are just jerks. And dont get onto the kids or go to the parents because then your the bad guy.

our neighbor had a lock on his fence and they pushed it open and let his dogs out too.

Sounds like a rental fence to me, I installed my own. cheaper in the long run and way better quality.

when you live on post youre not sapose to install youre own you are only allowed to have rental fences from the companies that they have listed for you. to be honest i didnt think that anyone would do this, growing up i wouldnt even think about doing it. kids today :( he is still missing and i hope someone has him instead of being out in the cold and if they plan to keep him instead of returning him all i can hope for is that they love him as much as we have. I still hope to find him. I just think its sad that someone did this and thought it would be a funny joke.

You are allowed to have your own fence. You just have to get special approval.

You are allowed to get your fence from wherever you want. They just have a suggestion of places to rent from. We self-installed our fence also and was as simple as filling out two pieces of paper. I usually keep a zip tie on our fence, but a lock makes sense too. Shouldn't have the dogs outside when you are not home, and should now know to check to see if your gate is closed before putting the dogs out.

i didnt know that i wish i did. thanks to everyone for their comments. i guess it has been a wake up call to how people are on post. we have been in the military for 8 years living on post the entire time, 5 of those years on fort riley, and never had a problem like this i guess i got too comfortable in my surroundings. one of our dogs came back and i will be watching her like a hawk from now on and god help those kids in their future, because if they think this is ok theres no telling what they will think is ok when they get older. To be honest i blame the parents and the system and ill prolly get a lot of negative comments for this but there is a difference between child abuse and dicipline. when i was younger i got my but spanked .. alot i was an honery child and i turned out great. Kids today parents dont want to spank them and just tell them that is not nice well alot of good that did. I wouldnt dream of doing half the stuff kids are doing today for fear of my butt being sore lol. thats another topic though i guess bring on the negative comments lol but that is how i feel.

Discipline.....each child is different. I have one that reacts well to physical discipline and thinks a naughty spot or time out is a joke. My other child laughs if she is spanked and thinks it is a game, but is she goes to a naughty spot or is isolated she cries and feels terrible.

We put in our own fence and a doggy door insert for the sliding glass door. Fence cost was less than one year of renting one. Plus I got to drink beer while I installed it.

lol garbage i agree discipline is different for each child and you have to find something that works but apparently some people arent even trying

If the kids are ever caught, I wonder what the punishment would be?

I don't have a dog, but if I did you just let me catch some kid letting it out. I would be realllly tempted to teach them the meaning of 'Sick 'em'...

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

Nothing will happento them if caught to be honest. you would think something would but nope. Heck over here in mcclellan kids were shooting at dogs with pellet guns. Mps got called and told parents to keep kids indoors. And although there were witnesses to it. Mps said nothing would be done.

notsue --- 12 years ago -

So they can shoot your dog with a pellet gun and theres no issue with that, but if I shoot the kids with a pellet gun I'd get a free trip to jail, right?

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

Yep, thats the way it looks. And my kid got shot by same kid same gun and nothing.
