Previously at Fort Polk. Hubby is an E4 & we have 2 kids (2 & 4 yrs)
We will be there late April / early May.
We need suggestions for cell phone provider, internet provider, etc for riley. And of course any other information you feel we might need to know! =)

I have straight talk through walmart. Unlimited talk text and web for 55.05 a month. I just bought a smart phone for 20 on their website and LOVE IT!

When we first moved into housing we had directv and I think internet through ATT. We ended up going with Allegiance Communications which is the cable/internet/home phone providers on post. I don't have too many complaints with it, I like it better then the first services we had.
I live in the forsyth neighborhood right across the street from the PX and the commissary and right next to the gate but the traffic up and down the hill to get to work for the soldiers can get hectic around lunch time and the end of the day. Housing is nice. It's picerne military housing, Forsyth was the new neighborhood but now they are tearing down homes on top of the hill and building ones that look like ours. The neighborhoods are nice, the community centers are nice and the pools are nice.

I have T-Mobile and get horrible reception. My husband has AT&T and no complaints, but our neighbors have AT&T and hate it.
We also have Allegiance for internet. Besides the crappy router they provide (we bought a better one) their service hasn't been bad.
There are numerous playgrounds on post for your kiddos, and MWR has lots of activities and sports for that age range.

Just remembered a question i meant to ask. My husband is a MP. I was trying to figure out where the mp station/PMO is to figure out which neighborhood would be best for us. Would like forsyth, but can anyone tell me if thats close to the pmo, mp company areas?

We currently have att for cell and internet. Was thinking about seeing if i could transfer our internet there to riley... should i not do that? We dont do cable.. only netflix/hulu. So internet is pretty important to us.

Last I know of AT&T doesn't do Internet on post, only Allegiance and century link. We use sprint and had no problems with drops calls and such. The mp station is on main post so historic neighborhood would be closest. They are building houses just like the ones in Forsyth up on the hill.

Mp station is over by airfield which is opposite side of post then Forsyth. But it's really not that far of a drive. When you get here you will see stop lights by the Forsyth shoppett. Coming out of shoppett if you go straight through those stop lights and keeps fallowing the rd you will eventually run Into the mp station maybe a 10-15 minute drive depending on traffic because the airfield is over near the mp station so idk how many people actually take that way to get to airfield from Forsyth but I don't think that road is to busy I could be wrong I have been away from riley for 8 months
