Please review your housing agreement. This may come as a surprise to you, but you actually agreed to supervise your children. Your 4 year old is not allowed to ride their bike up and down the street alone (or at all, that's what the sidewalks are for - who knew?!) Your children are not allowed to sit in the middle of the road screaming at other passing children that they are gay. Did you know your twins think it's acceptable to walk into someone's home that they don't know just because the door is open? They take that Welcome mat literally! And your middle schooler thinks if a house is currently unoccupied that it qualifies as a hang out for them and their friends.
And while you're neglecting your offspring, were you aware you're not supposed to blast your swear filled rap music at full blast so that all the other parentless children can learn new swear words to yell at each other? That's one way to expand a kids vocabulary!
So, EPR adults, to sum up this little chat, get off your rear and get your kids in gear.

toriT,
I am guessing you live in that area! lol... guess you have had enough huh??

After writing that, I tried to leave my house at 10 that night but there were two adults sitting on my driveway just chatting away. They have their own perfectly acceptable (and identical) driveway three houses down. Where I'm from, that's trespassing, but I've stopped MPs driving by before to do something about people at my house -their kids play on my porch and in my front yard like they don't have their own- and they say there's nothing they can do. Really?

Last week or something, I was in my front room and heard someone trying to open the door. I had it locked like usual so they couldn't get in. I unlocked the door, because I was thinking maybe my husband had went around the house and wanted to come in. Some kid maybe 10-13 years old walks in and I'm standing there by the door... I said "Yeah, this isn't your home" and he kinda looked around confused and walked back out. He came in all quickly too like he knew where he was, hubby and I got a good laugh about it for a while, but yeah, lock your doors or you might end up with an extra child.

And then I'd get in trouble for it!

Be creative Tori, A lawn Sprinkler at 10pm that washes down drive while watering the grass makes your area less comfortable to "Squatters". I read about a guy in CA who had a motion sensor hooked to his sprinklers, worked very well

I'd totally do the sprinkler thing. Thankfully I have no issues with people invading my space.

I'm going to have a swamp yard!

Tee C --- 11 years ago -

That would make me so angry.

When you say someone was in your driveway--do you mean they'd brought lawn chairs over to your driveway, put them down and sat there? Geez, that's bold. I would have told them what bus to catch and where to get off.

My husband parks in the drive, pulls all the way up top. They were sitting on the driveway right below his car. I just want to know what made them think that was a smart choice.

It could not be any worse than every kid in my street using chalk on my driveways and doing their artwork and sometime obscene words and pictures. Did I mention they walked around bot of my vehicles last summer with chalk in hand and wrote all over my cars? I confronted the parents and they denied it all that it would have been their precious angels. Some people's kids can do no wrong.

Again, a water hose works great for erasing chalk and running off kids(and some adults)

Gv is going to start getting lots of calls from "victims" of water hose violence

notsue --- 11 years ago -

Gv will prolly ignore those calls! :D
