My husband of 6 months just got on his plane in Topeka Ks to fly to Kuwait for a deployment of 9 months. He's in 2/34ar Fox co and I'm freaking out because he didn't answer the last text or my phone call. It went straight tovoicemail. My girls and I miss him already. Samantha, I understand how you feel. I remember the first time my hubby left. First take a deep breath, it's ok to feel this way. Second don't let the missed texts and phone call bother you. He is probably busy getting himself set up and getting the unit reestablished over in Kuwait. I know that some guys have to buy internet cards that allow them to access the internet, maybe he hasn't gotten one yet. The next thing I would do is go to his company. They have people on rear detachment that can give you the info you need. They will tell you who the FRG leader is, and give you the number of the rear D commander and First Sgt. The FRG is made up of wives who's husbands are in your husbands unit so it's a good way to make friends. Last of all take heart. I know it's hard having him gone but look on the bright side, Kuwait is one of the safest deployments he could have. Nine months seems like a long time but it could be 15 like they used to be. Also careful what you post. You gave out way to much information about his flight. You are not to post flight information what he's doing where he's at or where he is going when it comes to deployment. They will delay flights because of people give out that info on public forms, fb pages anything that a terrorist can hack and see from any type of account online.
